Hey there! My name is Anna. I am from the U.S. The state I am from is called South Dakota. South Dakota is NOT in the South! It is a northern state in the middle of the country. I currently live in Portland in the state of Oregon. I have over 15 years of teaching experience. I started my teaching career in Japan through the JET Programme, which is a government program that places native English speakers as teachers in public schools. I taught for 3 years as a JET at 5 high schools. After JET, I stayed in Japan for 2 ½ years and taught at 2 private middle schools. This was my first experience solo teaching. Next, I moved to Korea and taught through the EPIK Program, which is a government program that places native English speakers as teachers in public schools. I was placed in Incheon in an elementary school. I also taught at an institute in Incheon for 2 years, where I taught elementary age through adult. I really loved living in Incheon, and I miss it. I lived there for 9 years. As for education, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services, and a Master’s in Mass Communication. I am excited to teach you from the U.S. I am happy to continue my teaching career and maintain a connection to Korea. It is nice to meet you!

JET 프로그램은 원어민 영어 교사를 공립 학교에 배치하는 정부 프로그램입니다. 저는 5개의 고등학교에서 3년간 교사로 근무했어요. 이후에 저는 2년 반 동안 일본에 머물며 2개의 사립 중학교에서 가르쳤어요. 이것이 제 첫 번째 혼자 가르치는 경험이었어요. 그 후에 저는 한국으로 이사하여 EPIK 프로그램을 통해 가르쳤어요. EPIK 프로그램은 원어민 영어 교사를 공립 학교에 배치하는 정부 프로그램입니다. 저는 인천의 한 초등학교에 배치되었어요. 또한 인천의 학원에서 2년간 초등학생부터 성인까지 가르쳤어요. 인천에서 살아서 정말 행복했고 그리워요. 인천에서 9년을 살았어요. 학위는 레크리에이션, 레져 관련 학사학위와 대중 커뮤니케이션 석사 학위를 취득하였습니다. 미국에서 살면서도 한국에 계신 여러분들을 가르치게 되어 기쁩니다. 교육 경력을 이어가고 한국과의 연결을 유지하는 것에 행복합니다. 만나서 반가워요!
