Hello, everyone! My name is Sharon and I was born and raised in Southern California. I have over 8 years of English teaching experience in South Korea and have taught students of various ages throughout my career. I believe you can never be too young or too old to start learning a new language. It is all about how much effort, energy, and enthusiasm you put into learning the language that determines what you gain from it.

안녕하세요, 여러분! 제이름은 Sharon입니다. 저는 미국 남부 캘리포니아에서 태어나고 자랐습니다. 저는 한국에서 영어를 8년간 티칭하였으며, 다양한 나이대의 학생들을 가르쳤습니다. 너무 어리거나 너무 나이가 많아도 새로운 언어를 배우는데는 나이의 장벽이 없다고 믿습니다. 중요한것은 얼마나 많은 노력, 에너지, 열정을 언어의 배움에 쏟아 붓는지로 결정됩니다.

Half of my experience comes from working at a nation-wide Kindergarten franchise where I taught phonemic awareness, phonics, listening comprehension, and reading comprehension skills. The other half of my experience comes from working at a private language institute where I taught Elementary, Middle, and High school students to read and write in English with the ultimate goal of being able to express oneself and ideas in essay form.

저의 티칭경험의 절반은 대형 프랜차이즈 유치원에서 일하면서 음성인식, 파닉스, 듣기이해 및 독해기술을 가르쳤습니다. 또다른 제티칭 경험의 절반은 학원에서 초등학생, 중학생 및 고등학생에게 리딩 뿐만 아니라 본인의 아이디어를 에세이로 표현할수 있는 것을 최종의 목표로 하여 쓰기를 가르쳤습니다. 

While working at these highly regarded centers of English education, however, I came to realize that the most progress I saw in terms of actually SPEAKING English came from my one-on-one sessions. In these sessions, the students were able to express themselves freely and get feedback quickly thereby facilitating their growth in their English language skills in a way that no amount of studying at a private academy could provide.

유명한 영어교육기관에서 일하면서, 실제로 영어스피킹을 잘하는 관점에서 보면, 가장 효과적인 방법은 일대일 수업이였습니다. 학원에서 여러명이 공부하는 방식이 아닌, 일대일수업에서는 학생들은 자유롭게 본인의 생각을 표현하고 피드백을 바로 받을 수 있기때문에 영어실력을 빠르게 향상시킬수 있었습니다.
