Hello, my name is Meghan. I am 33 years old and reside in the Madison, Wisconsin area in the United States. I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor/certificate in Criminal Justice. This should be completed by the end of the year at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, go Badgers! I have extensive teaching credentials in the field of Autism therapy and respite care. Within the almost 15 years of experience, I have focused on the concept of “play” therapy. This type of work is called Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and uses communication and learning skills through positive reinforcement. I have been teaching English online through multiple platforms for the last year. My experience helps with having genuine Total Physical Response (TPR) in classes. The patience, understanding and dedication I give to each student is something I am quite proud of and fine tuned it with my Autism students. I love to make learning enjoyable. I do this by interacting constantly and using voice control to help direct and teach. For example, I will show excitement if a student conquers learning a hard or long word. I will also use a calm and supportive voice tone when they may be struggling or to maintain control of the lesson. I love teaching, especially English to those who come from different cultures and places. I appreciate the time taken to read my bio and look forward to working with you in the future.
